Why is Just Eat providing me with insurance?
The safety and security of every user on our platform is incredibly important to us. This insurance coverage means that whilst you’re out on the road with Just Eat, you’re covered in the event of an accident from the moment you check-in to the moment you check-out of a Delivery Run. Plus if an injury means you’re unable to work, this insurance provides cash benefit, which can be used to provide financial support whilst you recover (subject to terms and conditions – see IPID and Policy wording attached).
Who’s covered under the policy?
You are covered if you have completed the Just Eat Courier onboarding process and must also have the right to work in Ireland or be a resident of Ireland for tax purposes, and be under 70.
Any person working on behalf of the delivery driver or Courier Partner (and who complies with the terms and conditions of the service agreement).
Are all vehicle types covered including bikes?
We will cover you for accidents , no matter what vehicle type you choose to use from bicycle, moped, motorbike, four wheel motorised vehicles, or whilst on foot we’ve got you covered.
I haven’t delivered in a while, am I still covered?
Yes, as long as you’re on a Delivery Run, you’re covered.
Who is the insurance provider?
The policy is underwritten by Lloyds Insurance Company SA and provided by Collective Society Ltd. If you’d like more information on LLoyds or a way to contact them, please find it in the IPID attached.
When am I covered?
You’re covered any time you’re checked-in to a Delivery Run, including when you’re using the “Pause” feature.
What is covered and not covered? What are the key features and limits of the coverage?
Coverage details are available in the attached IPID and Policy Wording documents.
Do I need to sign up or pay?
No. By signing up to the service agreement with Just Eat, you’re automatically covered by this insurance policy for free. However, this insurance policy does not replace the motor insurance and ‘hire and reward’ insurance you need if you’re using a motor vehicle to make deliveries.
What if I want to opt out?
If you want to opt out simply email us at couriers@just-eat.ie.
If I have an accident, is my vehicle or bicycle covered if there’s damage?
No, this insurance policy covers you in the event of personal injury resulting from an accident while delivering on the Just Eat platform.
Does this replace my Commercial Motor Insurance (Hire & Reward Insurance)?
No. Just Eat Group Personal Accident insurance does not replace any motor insurance you have already. If you use a scooter, motorbike, or car to make deliveries, you still need to purchase your own policy for the following two types of insurance:
Motor insurance to cover you for social, domestic, and pleasure purposes
Hire and reward cover not excluding food delivery for using your vehicle for business purposes, including when delivering for Just Eat.
When can I file a claim?
If you’re in an accident or injured while checked-in to a Delivery Run on the Just Eat platform, you can file a claim with Collective. You should notify Collective as soon as practicable if you want to file a claim. More information will be provided on making a claim when we launch on September 1st.
How do I file a claim?
You can make a claim directly from your Collective account.
How do I update my details?
On registration with Collective you will be able to provide your contact details and keep them up to date going forward. If you wish to update your details on your Just Eat Courier profile please visit the profile page of the Courier Portal to update your contact information.
What happens if my substitute gets in an accident and wants to make a claim?
As the account holder, your substitutes or Personnel are covered under the Group Personal Injury and Revenue Protection Policy provided by Just Eat, providing they comply with the terms and conditions of the service agreement. If you have any questions about how to make a claim as, or on behalf of, a substitute please contact justeat@collectivebenefits.com who can assist you further.
I have only started delivering for Just Eat. When will I receive insurance coverage?
You are covered automatically once you start a delivery run with us. If you have only started delivering with us please allow up to a week to be able to register on the Collective portal. Don’t worry though, we will send you a reminder about Collective once you can register!
My questions aren’t answered here! Who can help me?
